New stuff!
We're pleased to announce that we'll soon be carrying whole leaf teas from Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea.I'll confess that tea hasn't been a priority at murky coffee in the past, and while the teas we've carried have been 'good,' they don't receive anywhere near the attention that our coffee does. Tea is a beautiful thing in itself, and we can't allow this disparity to continue any longer.
Intelly's Tea Buyer, Doug Palas, has sourced some wonderful teas for us, and we'll be rolling out the new tea selection within the next week or two. We're planning a nice assortment of black, green, and white teas, as well as some herbal and flavored offerings. Feel free to look through Intelligentsia's website, and check out their tea selection.
Doug hosted a tea-cupping for us last week in Chicago, and it was amazing how different such a high-quality tea can be! Hooray for tea!
Not to mention the fact that buying tea from a Chicago company will help heal the wounds that were caused by the Washington Wizards WHOMPING the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Sorry guys!
ALSO...
If you haven't noticed, we added something special to our coffee offerings last week. French press coffee is now available. Many may wonder, "What's the deal with this french press stuff?"
French press coffee is perhaps one of the purest ways to enjoy all that coffee has to offer. While traditional 'drip' coffee is moderately filtered, all that separates the grounds from the beverage after 'brewing' in a french press is a mesh screen. This allows the full flavor and body of the fresh-roasted, fresh-ground coffee to really show through.
For those who enjoy a nice Cafe Au Lait, try one made with french press coffee. It truly makes for an even more enjoyable drink.
One of the best things about our new french press offerings is that any coffee that's sold as whole-bean is also available as a french press. That means extra-special coffees, like our Gold Label Selection Finca Mauritania Pure-Peaberry (Which is, by the way, almost gone! Get it while you still can!), or the 2005 Cup of Excellence award winning El Salvador, can now be enjoyed as a beverage. w00t!
Hooray for french press coffee! Hooray for tea! Hooray for the United States of America!
