Thanks all!
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the first-ever Mid Atlantic Regional Barista Competition last weekend. It was an amazing event for all attendees, competitiors, and our murky staff.
Big congrats to David George of Crescent Moon Coffee Roasters in Mullica Hill, NJ for earning the champion's trophy!
We'll see David and many others at the United States Barista Championship, April 7-10, 2006, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Since we're on the subject, folks around Arlington may have noticed the obnoxiously green room that the side-room has turned in to. We've converted that room into the murky coffee cupping and training room, where Aaron will continue to push the boundaries of coffee knowledge and education. We'll be using that room for cuppings, coffee tastings, barista training, and for our two USBC competitors, RyanG and Katie, as they train for the April event.
Folks around the region who might be interested in joining us for competition training... we have a regulation setup now, so hit us up with an email or whatever and get in on some USBC action. We'll have a 3-group Linea EE (semi-auto) in house in a couple of weeks to bust out some 15-minutes on.
Holla.
