Happy New Year!

2004 was a big year for murky coffee: murky capitol hill finally came into its own, bringing people together from all over the city for some good coffee... we've come to love, and said goodbye, to many faces behind the bar (Ronie, Sunny, Nelson, Mark, Casey, and Kat)... and of course, we opened in Arlington.

2005 will undoubtedly be another big year. Renovations are planned at both shops. You'll see some changes to our coffee selection (finally, in 'murky coffee' packaging). Next week, we'll start offering 'dessert pastries' at murky arlington in the afternoon and evenings. Three murky baristas will be competing at the end of January in the SouthEast Regional Barista Competition, which is a qualifier to the U.S. Barista Championship in Seattle this spring. Wish Ryan, Aaron, and Katie luck!!!

As always, feel free to shoot me an e-mail (email@murkycoffee.com) if you have any questions or comments. Best of luck in two-double-aught-five!!!

No more comments.

When we went bloggy-style with murkycoffee.com, we wanted to encourage people to leave feedback on posts and maybe engage in some lively discussion. We had that for a while.

When we started in Arlington, things changed a little, and while the comments became more frequent, they also became more than just feedback on posts and lively discussion. Please note that at no point was there EVER any sort of censorship... if for nothing else, in the interest of free and open discourse.

Unfortunately, the 'comments' has nowadays become overrun with people who feel the need for yet another anonymous internet soapbox for themselves. If you have feedback, questions, or anything to say regarding the goings on at either murky coffee shop, then by all means... send us an e-mail.

But as happens far too often on our beloved Internet, this particular 'community' has ceased to be constructive. Rather than police or otherwise censor the comments, we'll just let them die.

R.I.P. Now let's get back to good people and good coffee.

The final version:

Putting in the lights adds 12 horsepower and 15 ft-lbs of torque, and will shave at least 0.5 seconds off of 1/4-mile times. Enjoy our faster espresso! (if only we had room for a big-wing spoiler...)
