Both murky locations will be closed (as in not open) on Monday, July 31, 2006, for our annual all-staff holiday excursion retreat convocation trip bender.

It's an opportunity to remind yourself how bad coffee is everywhere else in the world, and our opportunity to remind ourselves what a coffee bean goes through when it's roasted.

Beth... in Beirut

A lot of our Cap Hill customers will remember Beth Callender-Wittke, who worked for us until this spring. She's been studying abroad...

...in Beirut, Lebanon.

She's in Beirut now, and as any reasonable person who lived in Washington DC at any point during the past five years would do... she's blogging.

Keep Beth and the others who are caught in the middle of this conflict (on all sides) in your thoughts and prayers.

More than just a year.

The first year of First Cup is complete.


Steve Ford, a roaster at Ecco Caffe (Santa Rosa, CA), started this project on July 2, 2005, and just completed the first year without missing a cup. Check it out!
